Spent half the morning settling into my new dorm. Then the rest of the morning was spent taking a nap:p

Thanks to roommate Kaka for letting me borrow her laptop!

I still can't get over the fact that my license was confiscated last Wednesday in Makati. It was an ironic experience because my Supervised Legal Research paper focused on the MMDA so it was inevitable that the MMDA-Makati brouhaha would also be touched upon. Talk about a concrete example right there. Anyway, MMDA doesn't confiscate licenses for traffic violations but Makati does. However, Makati is supposed to be under the MMDA in some aspects (particularly traffic management) but tell that to the almighty Jejomar.

Anyway, I have to personally retrieve it soon at the Makati Municipal Hall after paying a fine. I could have paid off the traffic enforcer since he was soooo begging for it ("Ano mam? May lakad pa kayo bukas? 500 lang naman ang multa pero pupunta pa dapat kayo sa munisipyo para kunin ang lisensya niyo...") but I didn't really feel like aiding and abetting corruption right then. Maybe some other time :p

I was also tempted to just report the license as lost and apply for a new one because Makati does not have a tie-up with the LTO, unlike the MMDA. Under the MMDA if a ticket is issued, this information is fed into the LTO system and becomes a part of your records. If the ticket is not paid at the partner banks, then you will not be able to have your license renewed. As already mentioned, Makati does not have the same arrangement with the LTO (because Jejomar insists on creating a Republic of Makati separate from the entire Metro Manila) so applying for a new license after submitting an affidavit of loss might just work, correction, it will probably work. Besides, there's an LTO branch right behind my mom's clinic in Sucat and a reissuance will only take a little over an hour. Very tempting.

But that's just it, an affidavit of loss is required and an affidavit is sworn to before a notary public so if you lie on oath you become guilty of perjury. Question, is perjury a crime involving moral turpitude? Because I so don't want to be barred from taking my lawyer's oath around this time next year (ibang klaseng confidence na to!!! hehehe).

Grrrr....So who's gonna bring me to the park now that Tita Jill's license has been confiscated?!?!

I loved my grad dress! It's a shame that it had to be covered by the toga :p Thanks to Margot for letting me borrow it :)

With the venerable Mr.Colet. We were the only ones left from our block :(

One day when Dionne "Magna cum Laude" Sanchez becomes rich and famous, I'll dig up this picture and relish my 0.5 seconds of reflected glory ("See?! I do know her!!")

I just spent the last three days in Taal Vista Lodge. My mom had a room there for the annual POGS convention and the room was for two, so... :)

The room was nothing fancy, just two beds and a couch, it didn't even have a view of Taal Lake. But it had a kick-ass airconditioner (what heat wave? :p) and I had full access to room service so not bad pa rin :)

Putting my stuff on MY bed :)

Triple decker sandwich with chips=lunch. I really intended to document everything I ordered from room service, but I usually ended up wolfing it all down before I could remember to take out the camera :P I could never do the food blog thing.

I don't know why some people choose to f*ck up their lives and then when all their shit comes to a boiling point, they blame everyone but themselves. Particularly blaming their parents.

Reality check, parents aren't supposed to understand their children. They're there to nurture, scream at, nourish , castigate and love their children but not to understand them. For them to understand you they would have to think like you, empathize with you and they won't do that because they're not you, they're your parents, they come from another planet. Don't you get that?

It just amazes me how some people seem to have an innate talent in bringing chaos and disorder to everything and everyone around them. I guess things like peace and a drama-free life are just too boring and staid for their liking.

Grow up.

My cousins and aunts are coming over for my graduation and so I'm putting on my eventologist cap once more for their visit :)

We're going to Subic and will visit Zoobic and Ocean Adventure. I'm not sure if we'll be staying there overnight but if we do then chances are we'll be renting a unit at Forest Hills.

There's also the Light Show in Roxas Boulevard to go to.

Any more suggestions on possible tourist-y places?

In spite of the universal appeal of a headache as the ultimate "get-out-of-anything" excuse, I've never really had to use that one before. I think it was mainly because I've never had a headache ever in my life. Sure I've experience wooziness, head throbbings but never a full on, in your face (err...in your head?) headache. Until today.

Wheee. Lucky me.

Gotta have my glasses changed soon. As in tomorrow. Obviously, I'm not used to all this studying hence the novel sensation.

********

I had trepidations over cutting my hair off a few months ago but I ended up loving it anyway. The fuss-free, low-maintenance lifestyle was definitely a refreshing change. But now that it's growing out, the ends end up sticking into the side of my face and my neck hence triggering nasty breakouts :(

It's better now and can easily be covered by concealer, but it still sucks.

But in spite of all that, I'm itching again to either cut or color my hair. However, I'm a cheapskate when it comes to my hair because I can't fathom spending that much for hair. And I'm not exactly adventurous when it comes to hairstyles. Now there's a dilemma right there.

Let's see if this shall and go the way of the digital perm.

Happy Easter!!!

It seems like someone's still afraid of mascots :p

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

But because today is Good Friday and Jesus is dead, let's try to be less effusive.

happy birthday to me.

We had a pre-birthday party yesterday night because Good Friday is hardly the most conducive day for celebrating.

G made spaghetti with meatballs and I prepared a chocolate fondue. I almost burned the chocolate! Had to keep on switching the microwave temperature because burnt bits kept on appearing :( Anyway, I ended up melting the chocolate on top of the stove.

Chocolate is love.

Thanks to Char for the fondue set!

First dibs for the birthday girl :)
